Ukrainian Levkoy Cat

The Ukrainian Levkoy is a medium to large, muscular yet slender cat with a distinctive hairless or minimally haired body, deeply wrinkled elastic skin, folded ears, large almond-shaped eyes, and an angular head with a unique "stepped" or dog-like profile.

Despite their unusual appearance, they are incredibly affectionate, intelligent, and social — often described as having dog-like devotion.

Ukrainian Levkoys are friendly, playful, curious, and highly intelligent. They form strong bonds with their humans, enjoy interactive play, and are generally very sociable with other pets.

Medium to large with a muscular yet slender body, soft elastic wrinkled skin (hairless or minimal hair), folded ears, large expressive almond-shaped eyes, and an angular head with a unique profile.

Like other hairless breeds, they need protection from temperature extremes and regular skin maintenance. They are generally low-shedding but require bathing and moisturizing.

As a relatively new breed, there is limited long-term data. They are generally considered healthy but require special attention to skin and temperature regulation. They may inherit conditions from parent breeds (e.g., dental issues or joint concerns).

The breed was developed in the early 2000s in Ukraine by breeder Elena Birjukova through crosses of the hairless Donskoy and Scottish Fold (with later outcrosses to Sphynx and Oriental Shorthair).
